The north-east - the region of diversity
The north-east of Majorca is characterised by a superb natural scenery. The mountain range of Levante stretches out over the complete coast and provides for a varied panorama, composed of an imposing highland and a fantastic littoral. Visit for instance the bay of Alcudia and let you get into beaches of fine sand, small isolated bays and crystal-clear water!
In the inland the landscape is characterised by a gorgeous nature where innumerable manors watch over pasture land and plantations of almond and olive trees. This incomparable environment remains unaffected from the tourism for the most part. You will find the quietness you need for relaxed activities like golfing, sailing, diving, sea-angling, horse riding or hiking.
The north-east offers a distinctive mélange of majorcan nativeness and international flair. Historic towns as Artá or Capdepera invite you to a copious shopping or sightseeing tour and promise cosy evenings in the dreamy restaurants and cafes. The holiday areas of Cala Ratjada, Cala Bona and Cala Millor which are popular for their vast beaches alternate with natural small harbours as Colonia San Pere which by the way has a spectacular view onto the bay of Alcudia.
The most important localities in the north-east are Alcudia, Artà, Cala Ratjada, Canyamel, Cala Millor, Pollença and Son Servera.
